Well guys iv been in Perth for the last month and a half now, and considering i wasnt even going to come over to the west coast i think iv done pretty well!!!
Perth is a very different place compared to Sydney - Infact Perth is known as the most isolated capital city in the world!!!!
When first ariving in Perth I spent the first week or so trying to figure out the different suburbs.... the place is spread over a huge amount of space, usualy you may aswell say your in a different town alltogether, but no, your still in Perth.
Ater being in the city for the first week i thought it was time to hit the hills!!!
Getting the train from the city centre to mundaring (up in the hills about 45 minutes away)
I stayed in the YHA up there and it was great! It was a very small hostel, there was only about 8 people in the whole time i was there! (1 week)
Theres not too much to do up in the mountains if you dont like walking, but its nice to get away from the big citys for a few days!
For the last month iv being staying in a hostel on the beach front at Scarborough!!
I LOVE IT! again it is a small-ish hostel... around 20 rooms! Evryone gets to know eachother and most nights you end up sitting down in the garden till stupid o clock in the morning! Its GREAT!!! lol
The beaches are amazing on the west coast and the water is even nicer!!
This weekend me and a friend hired a car and set off down south to do a round trip of Albany! Passing through margret river and having a few tastes of the different wines and cheeses! Then traveling onto the south coast.... Again the scenery down there is amazing... a lot greener than up north so it was a nice change. The main things which stick out about the tip is climbing Glouster tree - the highest lookout tree in the world (66 metres high) and Wave Rock - yep you guessed it, its a rock shaped like a wave lol!
All in all perth is cool and the people are soo layed back!!!
Again will keep you posted on the rest of my travles and my first month of working on Rottnest Island!
