Since leaving Sydney we've spent a couple of days in Newcastle (which is a bit of a ghost town) and have now made our way up to Byron Bay which is very beautiful. Arrived in Sydney after travelling for 24hours, only to find they'd lost Pete's bike & have to hang around for 2 hours while they tried to find it! Turned out, it was on the plane, but the baggage handlers hadn't managed to locate it. Pete got $100 for the inconvenience and therefore some new board shorts from Bondi Beach!
