Ok, the second night passed without incident also, and was a very peaceful sleep... Maybe it's all hocus?!? (Wouldn't want to take any chances though)... We risked going up to the lookout for a view of sunset over town last night, and bundled up with all the other tourists (you can tell they're tourists from the Britz and Maui vans, and the tow mirrors on the 4wd's), and we all looked like lambs waiting for slaughter. It's really funny when you think about it, how we're all so far removed from what we know as normal, that we've retreated to the 'safety in numbers' instinct. But it was well worth it, the setting sun was beautiful, and even the boys stood still for a while to enjoy the show. Last night was a gorgeous moon, very large and very bright, and the night time temperatures have been high enough now to make the doona seem too hot. The days have been wonderful weather, hot, but with a nice breeze to make it comfortable...
We've slowly started packing up the caravan, ready for our move to the underground hotel tonight. It's given us a lazy day, which has been good for catching up on washing and a little bit of cleaning (I sent Jo back out to the car today, she missed too much yesterday, and it needs redoing).
If I had another opportunity, I wouldn't stay three days in Coober Pedy. Two is plenty. One is too many, but there's some really interesting stuff you need to see (not wierd interesting, but genuinely interesting), and it has been educational for us all. I think the best thing would be to arrive, stay overnight and spend the next day doing the scenic drive through the Breakaways and the opal mine tours. Sleep that second night, and leave the next morning. If you're a golf nut, maybe a round on the 7th most unique golf course in the world would be tempting, but not for us. Final thoughts; glad we came? Hell, yeah! Do it again? Not in a hurry, now we've seen it, there's not enough here to drag us back. Maybe in 10 years...
I'm blogging now, cause as you know, we're underground tonight, and I don't want to waste our first night in a solid bed in three weeks telling you lot what we've been doing. I'd rather be doing it (huh? huh? get it?) Haha, that's just jokes, but I am interested in what sleeping underground is like, so I'll let you know on tomorrows blog from Erldunda, which is a mere 500km up...
See ya then...

Aunty Min pmsl. Doing it Bahahaha Underground skiing bahahaha. In ya dreams Bucco. Those underground walls are really thin, Bahahaha & have little if any insulation, Bahahahaha (& you think youre the funny 1, I crack myself up). Has Jo got Nat's baby wipes to clean the dust out of the car? Nat even has her portable Dyson (might be a good friend from D2 Dys) in her car! I bought a vac when we got to Alice to clean ours after the Plenty Highway (Highway bahahaha). I'm glad you enjoyed the cultural aspect of Coober, as well as the drastic lnadscape, it's pretty awe inspiring huh. You've gota give it to the locals who live there, I don't rekon I'd be able to hack it. Alice Springs, yeah I could, Darwin, hmmm not so sure, but out there, well think I'd choose more remote & less riff raff, like Birdsville. Now there's a wild wild west town where you could settle down with the family. :-) Happy travels. Love Ya Guts you lot. PS Enjoy your dinner at The Bough House Restaurant. Hehehehe
