Chapter 3: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia28-Sep-08 to 1-Oct-08+ve spin rating: 7.5 out of 10The things I do to keep you guys posted...so I eventually left Ko Phi Phi, the first attempt to leave on 26-Sep didn't work out so good did it Phil?! We had an awesome 'last night out' which turned out to be the penultimate night, oh no, another night in Phi Phi. For me the actual last night was a much more controlled affair, I wouldn't be able to handle missing the boat twice in a row. So off Phil from Hull (very hard knocks) and I went on the 9 hour journey to KL, or was that 20 hours... a simple mistake for the travel agent to make, sure what's another 11 hours!Landing in KL from the night bus at 5.30am forced us to in search of a Maccers and KFC, we had both... relax we were knackered. We got dropped to the backpacker street then I left Phil to go to Mr Ballantyne's palace. I was greeted by a tall hairy man in a robe (Craig) and the hairy man was greeted by a homeless looking rough arse bearded looking man (me). Craig had to nip to work (on a Sunday...wierdo, (he's so dedicated fair play to him) and I got some kip in my own room with a big lovely double bed in it. Craig sent me an email that day to help myself to whatever he had in his fridge, not much you can do with just a lemon.Anyway that night we went into meet the Phil + other crew crew for food and a few beers... I had nothing, couldn't stay awake. A few unrepeatable stories of drunken times were told, Phil came out looking the worst obviously, hard bast*rd.The next day I stressed (yes me) about whether to hit the Perhentian Islands or go to Indonesia, it took about half the day to decide Indonesia was the next port of call, which unfortunately meant parting company with Phil. Craig took me out for a beautiful tapas meal after he returned from another hard day at the office, it was so romantic, I never wanted the night to end.I woke up after a good spooning session and thought its time Phil (the hard bast*rd from Hull) and I saw some of KL. So that is exactly what we did... we saw some of KL i.e. hop-on-hop-off bus ticket with 23 stops, we chose 3. There was A/C on the bus!! After all that sight seeing I headed back to a very excited Craig who was off the next day, he was all over the game of scrabble, I convinced him otherwise that we were hitting the town. We did manage to grab a quick game of Poker with some of his work colleagues before we headed for the bars, guess who cleaned up. Drinks were on Craig and I for the night i.e. Phil didn't have to dip his hand in his pocket... mind you if Phil doesn't want to pay, Phil doesn't pay! We said good-bye to Phil who was off to the Perhentian Islands the next morning, and continues onto a club called 'Zook'. The taxi driver misunderstood and took us to the zoo at 2.30am, so a 5 minute taxi journey ended up being a 30 minute round trip... he was a great laugh though so no biggy.I was ropey as hell the next day so Craig and I hung out keeping activity to a minimum before the emotional drop-off to the airport. I was off to Denpasar, Bali in Indonesia with one mission - to find the Komodo Dragon...
