Have just arrived in Kuala Lumpur.
Carol slept well. I didn't. I watched 4 movies.
It is around 7 am and 26 degrees.
We are on a train from airport that has WiFi which is a bonus. Have been out of contact for 2 days unless I wanted to pay exorbitant access charges.
Train takes 28 minutes.
Fortunate to get into our hotel room at 7.30 in the morning. Had a shower and a 3 hour sleep.
Caught the Hop On Hop Off bus. Very tight seating. Slow progress. There is a person that sells you a ticket, a person that exchanges that ticket for another, a person that separately checks your ticket and a person that interrupts the audio to repeat what the audio is saying. At least 3 jobs that could be done by one person.
Cluttered city that is a cross between Singapore and Hong Kong. It is interesting that there is a lot of old apartment buildings that are in a state of decay. Does not augur well for the new apartment buildings.
Got off for a break at the Petronas Towers (worlds tallest twin towers) - roughly half way around. Lower levels are retail and you get the sense you are walking around Chadstone. Had my 1st caffe latte for 4 weeks.
Locals very friendly in guiding you around.
Back to hotel around 5. Watched some Olympics and then had an early dinner.
A glass of De Bortoli Windy Peak wine was approximately $A20. Carol instead had a cocktail (a Kamikaze - vodka base) which was the equivalent of $A10.
In bed at 7 pm.
