What a beautiful city!! 10 days in Cape Town was great - we had time to chill out, relax, wash everything that we owned and explore the city! Liz (a family friend of the Larcombes) played the very hospitable host lending us her car and playing guide. We hit the waterfront, went to Robben Island and Nelson Mandela's cell at the maximum security prison, lost our money at the Grand West Casino, spent a day out in the Franschoek wineries, explored Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope, swam with the penguins at Boulders Bay, ate the most devine calamari at Chapman's Peak Hotel, saw a spectacular sunset from Blouberg Strand (which looks across the bay to Cape Town and Table Mountain) then turned around to watch an incredible full moon rise over another mountain, caught the cablecar up Table Mountain (amazing views!), went to the beaches at Camps Bay, were treated to a couple of braais (bbqs) and ate very tasty ostrich steak courtesy of Eric and Jean.... wow! Busy! Lovely people, beautiful coastline and national parks, and so much to do!
All in all, a must see if you come to Africa!
Will write soon,
love to all,
