The long plane ride really helped to settle my nerves, by the time I reached Frankfurt I was feeling much better. I've realized that I can't turn back the clock, so I shouldn't waste time being scared or nervous.
Athens has been surprisingly easy to travel around. The Greeks take great pride in the fact that most of them speak not only Greek and English, but at least a third language as well... Because it is so easy to communicate I have to keep reminding myself that I am in a foreign country. Upon my arrival in Athens I made the huge mistake of lying down on my bed, I fell asleep immediately and stayed asleep for 3 hours. When I woke up, looked out the window and saw a beautiful full moon. Even though it was late, the moon lit up the streets and I could see locals and tourists taking a late night stroll. I stepped out into the street and followed the throng of people heading towards the Acropolis, which I discovered was open late because of the full moon. No matter what city I go to when travel, I always seem to have one of those spectacular moments when the world seems to stand still and I am amazed that I am able to experience something so special. Walking around the Acropolis, navigating my way by the light of the moon, was one of those moments.
