A really beautiful morning here in Cornwall. Blue skies, warm sunshine and no wind. Decided to wander down into Porth Joke which is a lovely beach valley accessible from nearby Crantock near Newquay. Only a few people around this morning so I enjoyed a walk on my own and casually found four geocaches which I have been meaning to collect for some time. Left at 10:30 am just as people started to appear - sleepy heads!!

Fairly dark and windy day with rain threatening but a stalwart group of geocachers met up at Minions high on the Cornish Moors, This area is surrounded by fantastic old engine houses and chimneys to remind us of the tin mining that this lovely county was famous for going back thousands of years. End of the work day - had been sitting in front of a computer all day so decided to take a short stroll around Charlestown to blow the cobwebs away. Dark, blustery and wet evening but the ships in the harbour still look great. Charlestown is a great little village - used to be a busy port but more of a tourist destination now. Popped up to North Cornwall this evening to attend a leaving party for an iconic Cornish geocacher - SMacB, the Mad Scientist of Tintagel. He is famous for hiding good caches in sneaky places and setting obtuse puzzle clues. The regard in which he is held was evidenced by the large number of Cornish cachers who turned up to wish him well on his move to Loughborough. Day out at the Newton Abbot Beer Festival today with a couple of good friends. Enjoyed sampling a number of beers from the south west of the uk. Still showery and sunny in equal proportion.
