London, Ontario
Tonight I finalized my trip by buying my plane ticket. Until this point, this trip was only a fantasy but now it is happening for sure (the ticket is non-refundable lol). I'll be flying American Airlines, which I have used multiple times. For those who might be wondering where i'll be at all times (mom)...here's the flight itinerary.
Thurs May 7
10:25 leave Toronto - 12:00 pm Arrive in New York City (JFK)
6:10 pm: Leave New York City - 6:25 am (Fri May8) Arrive in London Heathrow
Sat Jun 6
11:55 am leave London Heathrow - 2:35 pm Arrive in New York City
5:20 pm Leave New York City - 7:15 pm: Arrive in Toronto
I'm actually looking forward to going to New York City although i'll probably spend it all in the airport (i do have a 6 hour stopover though so who knows). The plane from Toronto to NYC is tiny (there are single rows so I dont sit beside anyone!!! That's a bit scary). The one from NYC to London is gigantic (9 seats across! That's also scary lol). I've always been good on planes but this will be a new experience. I just hope I can handle an 8-hour flight (5 1/2 hours to Vegas last year almost killed me). The itinerary is actually pretty awesome though since i arrive in London early morning so I dont lose any sightseeing time and I get home in Toronto not too late so I dont have to stay overnight. ps. I case anyone was interested in the prices for future reference..the whole thing came out to $760 Canadian. This is actually decent. About a month ago they were going for $690ish and then went up into the $850 range until about a week ago.
Anyways, that's it for now, this was the first big step. I still have tons to do. Next will be buying my train pass and going to the bank to get all my finances and travel insurance covered.
