First day in Thailand done. A pretty active day for us, started off by getting in our first tuk tuk and the excitement on Coxy's face was unreal. We then got on a long tail boat that was about 100 years old and felt like it was guna break up any minute and did a tour of the river and the canal going around the old city. We ended up being dropped off by the grand palace which was incredible. Place was covered in gold trim and the artwork was ridiculous. After talking to a soldier for about half an hour he told us to get in another tuk tuk and head to a Buddhist temple as it is a holy day for all Buddhists. Our little tuk tuk driver then turned into our chaffeur as he waited outside for us. We went into the grounds and were told that we'd have to wait an hour for a tour from a monk so we decided to move on to a sapphire exchange shop and then to a tailors. After talking to the tailor, we managed to get ourselves three tailored cotton shirts for 50 quid before our tuk tuk driver ,who we named Deshaun, drove us to the skytrain through rush hour traffic, on the wrong side of the road. Callum s*** himself.
