Hey my loved one's!
Its Thursday today, nearly half past 6 in the eve and I'm in a local restuarant drinking rum and coke and eating fried Squid (i know not exactly Project aware from the diver!) But it's some of the best in the world! HUGE! So...today i've had the day off work, due to the lack of customers. Which sucks big time!
It's been at least 32'c here today, and Im warm to say the least! Didnt sunbath today, taking a break like a good girl. Instead watched Toy Story 1 with Angus, caught up on all the exciting things I've been missing here on Koh Phi Phi (cant say its agreat deal! Everyone tends to go through some sort of deadly illness whilst here!)
It's become windy today which is stange (i hear we are expecting storms soon???) So yesterday, I had the day off too!! BORING!!!! I spent the day attempting to sort out retrieving my dive gear which is being sent by Fedex, had to ask Oraphin (Kenny, my boss's wife who is Thai) to sort it...hopefully i should recieve it very soon.
Then hung out with Effie..who is great fun....I then sunbathed on the beach next to the shop (different Beach to the last) And finally at 5.30 went Night diving with Ben!!
Now as you all know...i'll go bomb hunting....drift diving in dropping 50 currents, penetrate impossible wrecks designed to kill. But Night diving isnt exactly the most fun i have!! It's extremely stressful for an Instructor leading...as your naviagation HAS to be very good! and also your ability to control any situation...as in losing someone! (it does get better in time!) lol. But the nerves never fade until about 15mins into the dive (for me anyway!). But anyway, Ben (Bless) was the Instructor leading...(haha) and i was pretty mush a Divemaster for him. One student in particular was extremely nervious, (irish lad) very matcho so that was funny, as i actually held his hand for a long while..!! and made him comfy underwater. I ended up babysitting the 2 irish lads, while Ben was teaching Advanced Open Water (night dive) and we had a wonder around. During this time, one of the Irish lads desided he would have more fun night diving with his torch off!!! SERIOUSLY!!!!!! OMG! I had a mini fit at first thinking id lost him. But i finally saw the glare from his mask and found him. To say the least we had words on the surface!
I saw 2 moray el's (biggun's) A hurmet crab, Lion fish (which is a scary thought for night diving!) and sand! YAY!! lol. But it was good despite the odd stressful situation. I wore my new dive suit as i get chilly night diving, and LOVED IT! However it took me nearly 3mins to get it on! As its tight and new, so it will hopefully wear in very soon! lol.
(ps.the Irish lad never mentioned the hand holding bit!! ) Bless.
(I'm now on my 2nd Rum and coke...) So after the dive i worked at the shop, trying to encourage people to come diving, this is sometimes difficult as you can't quite drag everyone into the sea! But we do all our jobs at the shop, and all the staff have to come in at 10 to either pack their dive gear, or just find out what they are doing the next day which usually takes us to 10.30 when we close and we finally leave the shop around 11 after a beer around the back garden. (We usually have a staff meeting over the beer!) Last night topic was Box jelly fish arriving in Thailand. NOT GOOD!
So this evening....I'm going to finish my rum and coke and go back to my pink hut, change for work at 10 (spray as much mozzie spray i can on my body!!) and then head for the shop. Papaya with Ben to grab some food, (i've eaten now, so he'll be solo) but chats about the day diving.
But for tomorrow who know's?! Im hoping to be diving....teaching a DSD would be nice (Discover Scuba Diver) who needs no experience to dive and with my skills i throw them in and hope for the best for a day..an experience for them diving!! lol. But they dont get any certification. Usually challenging but fun.
So....Much love all xxxxx
I'll update soon...hopefully by this point i would have seen a Whale Shark...apparetly they are around here somewhere!?!?!?!
Love dan
