Today has been a royal pain in the arse!! Got up ready for my second day of diving only to be informed that my credit card payment (made yesterday) had been rejected. Tried to phone the credit card company but could not get a connection. Tried to draw cash out from the machine (again) but no joy! The dive centre would not let me go on the second dive before payment was made (which I thought was well out of order)...so I spent most of the morning queueing in the bank trying to make a withdrawal on my Visa...After a long queue and lots of security checks I managed to get some cash but was too late to join the dives.

I had to be content with walking around the market and local shops...catching the odd drink and bits of food. Was the centre of attention so had a few conversations with the locals who are seriously all lovely.

In the evening met up with a few of the divers and then headed to some of the food stalls for a late night snack. On the way home I passed a cafe where a few people were singing local Karaoke...as I walked passed a few people spotted me and shouted me over. I spent the next 4 hours singing the Beatles with twenty or so locals joining in...I had a great laugh. Later on a few more wersterners joined us and by the end of the night we had everyone dancing and singing...it was great!!

It made me wonder if I was in a group of friends back home, would we shout over a stanger to join in our night...probably not...but these guys are so inclusive (not just here but generally on my travels) they all seem to get a buzz off something / someone new. Its a really nice environment to be in.

Now I have money I will be doing the big dive tomorrow to Sipadan which is one of the best dive sites in the world...
