well well, my contiki tour has finished which is sad but at the same time it is nice to be free to do the our own thing once again. The other day we visited the famous devil's marbles which are halfway between darwin and alice springs, they have been formed by weather erosion and some of the rocks are almost perfect spheres. for lunch that day we visited a little outback like pub which was decorated in peoples belongings that they have donated from such things as money and old passports to clothes and underwear. The next day we visited some thermal pools whichb we had a swim in which was a good experience. The following day we travelled up to Katherine where we took a cruise of the gorge there which was beautiful but also about 50 degrees at the same time which was slightly uncomfortable! Then the day after that we visited Kakadu national park where crocodile dundee was filmed and saw lots of aborogional cave paintings and then took another cruise nearby over yellow waters where we got to see many of Australia's native birds and also a few wild crocodiles. also in the last couple of days we swam in a few natural open swiming pools which were beautiful and we were lucky to be able to swim in them because in some parts of the year they are home to freshwater crocodiles! yesterday night was our last night on tour so obviously it was going to be a big one. we all went out to a restuarant and had a great meal and then off to a good nightclub where some activities were put on includinga blind date competition likew the one on tv with three male contestants where I was one of them. I somehow managed to win it and me and the girl won a free bottle of champagne and had to have the first dance infront of everyone! yesterday we visieted Litchfield national park and some termite moundds. not very exciting for the last day but this was mainly because the tour manager expects most people to be so tired and hungover that he doesn't make the last day to strenuous! allthough the tour finished yesterday around 4 in the afternoon we all aranged to go out for a last meal together last night before most people took there flights off to various places later that night. a handful of people are still staying in darwim for a bit like us so we are going to take a sunset cruise tonight. I will fill you in on what we are doing on the way bakc down and hopefully get some pictures up! see ya.
