On our first day in Luang Probang we woke up early! Not by choice, but by a combination of a whining cat, screaming children and a very uncomfy bed!! Still, we'd had enough sleep to keep us going! We wandered down to the river for breakfast and discovered pineapple jam! Delicious! We spent the rest of the morning walking along the river and stopped in a bar for a drink and a rest!
We carried on into town and were looking at the tours when a guy came over and asked whether we'd like to share their tuk tuk to the waterfall. We decided to go for it, changed into our swim stuff and went.
When we got there, we had lunch and then wandered towards the waterfall. We passed a bear sanctuary and then made it to the pools. It was gorgeous. Such a lovely colour and so pretty. We went for a swim and it was freezing, but well worth it! Paul did a Tarzan off a rope swing before we had to leave. We wondered back through the market, and Paul bought his first beer Laos goodies.
It was so nice to see the sun again! We'd missed it in Vietnam.
We went back to our room briefly, before going back down to the riverside to watch the sunset. It was really lovely, so pretty!
We got ready for dinner and made our way back into down. We found the food part of the night market, where you could fill your plate with whatever you wanted for 75p!
After dinner we spent most of the evening looking around the night market and buying lots of goodies! It was exhausting, so we stopped for a drink before heading for bed!
It was another bad nights sleep, but we survived it and even had a bit of a lie in!
We went back to the same place for breakfast as Paul couldn't resist the pineapple jam!
It was a cloudy morning so we decided to go up the hill to the temple at the top! There were a lot of steps, and the sun came out, so we were boiling! It was a good view from the top though!
We had a lazy afternoon, sitting in a riverside bar full of cushions that you could lie on! On our way there, we saw a snake, that freaked Sarah! We had a few drinks and read our books! There was bangers and mash on the menu, so we couldn't resist!
We wandered back over to the other river to watch the sunset again, and it was just as impressive!
Back to the room to get ready and then a repeat of the night before! We bought even more goodies, and had no idea how they were going to fit in our bags!!
One last drink on the river, where the bar lady asked us to turn off the lights before leaving, as she was off to bed behind the bar! We were sad to be leaving this place!
