Day 68. Early on the road south today towards port city of Geraldton. Farewell to Ross and Robyn. Picked up some tiger prawns at the Denham fish factory on the way out. The distant views of Shark Bay and Denham Sound brilliant in the early morning light and the carpet of wildflowers so vivid as we travelled further south. Stopped at Overland Roadhouse for morning tea and historic village of Northampton for lunch in the van as a thunderstorm burst overhead. We have not seen any good rain for over 2 months! Arrived into Geraldton and found our nice van park near the port and beach on Marine Terrace. The huge cruise ship 'Dawn Princess' of 77 tonnes with 2,000 passengers was in port for the day. After a quick visit to the very helpful information centre and a drive around the pretty city centre, we drove back to the van via the fisherman's wharf and then dinner of barbecued chicken, gravy and veggies. Cool windy day 24 degrees, drove 420km. Raining lightly this evening and cool.
