Is it us?. The aire at Abrantes is on a large carpark with spaces marked out for two motorhomes. One of the places was taken by a GB van with a Welsh pennant fluttering from its aerial. We took the space next to it, taking care to give as much space as possible. All seemed OK. The Welshman got out a bucket and washed his van and emptied his loo. We had a latish dinner and it was getting dark. As we were finishing our meal, he started his engine and backed out. Funny time to be moving, we thought. He did move - all of 50 mtrs away. Someone doesn't like us, we thought.
Next morning as we were having breakfast they drove off. We thought no more of it until that afternoon when they reappeared, minus their flag and parked in their original spot - next to us, leaving their window blinds in place. Later, I walked to the rubbish bin and got a wave as I returned to our van. Next morning they left, just before us, neither of us having exchanged a word.
What a walk to Abrantes town centre - and all uphill. Not that there was much to see when we got there. We had a couple of drinks in a bar and walked back down. Today's weather has been the best we've had and back at the van we sat outside in the sun and read our Kindles.
