We are at the second campsite on a spit of land sticking out into the river. A short walk from the site is a tiny ferry seating no more than four waiting to take people across the river to Prague. There's no hanging around - you approach the ferry, the ferryman gets up and holds the boat against the bank and in you get. A smidgin of agility is required. How those at the first site we passed get across I don't know. Presumably they catch a bus to take them to the tram stop, drive or have a very long walk to the ferry. Two British vans there but none on our site. Went over late afternoon having bought our tickets at the site. We opted for half hour tickets. Validation is on either the ferry or the tram and lasts for, in our case, thirty minutes. We could have bought hourly or daily tickets if we had wanted to. It rained, of course. This seems to be the pattern. Nice days but heavy rain starting around 17:00hrs. After a visit to a bar - necessary to shelter - went back to the site. No Brit tv but channels like CBS Drama/Reality and Movies4Men etc.. Gave them a go and then switched to DVD.
22/05/2013. I said I wouldn't get a job at the Met Office - today we woke to heavy rain and it's continued until late afternoon. Still, D did some jobs she's been wanting to do and I emailed S. Had a walk along the river when the rain eased up and a drink at a nice little bar.
23/05/2013. A few paces from the ferry landing stage on the far bank there's a scooter hire office. I've decided to try before buying and intended having a one hour hire after a walk round town. Needless to say, the place was closed when we got back to the ferry.
There are some amazing shops in Prague. No difficulty in finding another pair of Jimmy Choos, a watch costing thousands, outfits by Prada Ralph Lauren or Dior and lots of nice things in Cartiers ..... One could go on ...
Left the site shortly before the Reception Office opened at 16:00 hrs for Beroun.
AND HERE ENDETH THIS BLOG! I'm continuing on another blog site which, if you feel like a quick glance, can be found at
