Time to head home.
I'm on the 9.10am Qantas Airbus A380-800 flight from Dubai to London Heathrow. A 7 hour flight. Arriving in LHR at 1.50pm.
My best friend Marian picked me up from the airport on what was the hottest day of the year so far, and drove me home. She had brought milk and something for dinner for me. She stayed for a cuppa and chat. It was good to be home.
A few things I have thought about since I've been home:-
The only way to fly is on an Airbus A380-800. It's quieter, has bigger seats, more legroom and the food is nice. I flew on Qantas to NZ which was much better than Emirates, who's food was just like school dinners.
Is a being a Barista a proper job? Surely it can't be that hard to make coffee?
Is it safe to pick up hitchhikers any where in the world? NZ has very few roads, sometimes only one going in that direction. I saw a couple of girls hitching and was tempted to pick them up but wasn't sure.
If you like shopping and sunbathing go to Dubai, otherwise I wouldn't bother.
Why do I have to pay at different tills when buying perfume and alcohol in duty free at Dubai airport.
Should you tip in a 5 star hotel? If so, who and how much?
When you are sitting outside in a non smoking area and 2 men start smoking in front of you are you brave enough to tell them?
New Zealand is a wonderful country, the scenery is spectacular with some very nice wines and I would love to go back. The only problem is it's too far away. Can it please be moved closer to Europe or can someone give me a "doctor who" style transporter.
