Scottish Sister's on Tour!
Arrived in Hervey Bay, where the main attraction is whale watching so we booked a trip although it was end of season and we would be lucky to see any whales. We were fortunate enough to spot a mother and calf swimming along, amazing to see. On the way back we saw a pod of dolphins and some turtles. We then headed out to Fraser Island, the largest sand island in the world. There were 11 people in our self drive 4WD tour. It was lots of fun driving along the sand and we visited some lovely beaches and lakes. From the lookout at Indian Heads we spotted a tiger shark in the water below! (Far below). We were also at a lake where fresh water turtles (mini turtles) live and will come swimming up to you. We braved camping again and survived not only the dingoes but also the snakes, spider and iguanas! Unfortunately all our forks and half our knives mysteriously disappeared so we were charged $3 each to replace them! Maybe the dingoes stole them!
