Pula, the mini collesuem
We arrived in pula after a short journey from rijeka, we left the sailor behind and were staying at a hostel which we actually booked, it seemed we had winged it throughout croatia. The hostel was good a small place and we had a 3 bed dorm with ensuite. We checked in and headed out to the anthetheatre we had seen on the way in. We went inside and this place was being used for actual shows too, it wasnt as big as the collesuem in rome but i thought it was a better experiance as you were allowed everywhere. They also had a museum downstairs but it wasnt much cop just some pots and other pressing machines they had found.
We walked to the sea front and booked ourselves onto a boat trip up the coast of croatia, it was 240 kuna about £30 including lunch we set sail the next day. We had been told there was a mile of good beaches about 40 mintues walk away, we headed out of the city to the beach, we found a walk way into a campsite and followed it down to the beach, this was a private campsite but we smuggled our way in. The beach was a bit rubbish, no sand anywhere, copey went swimming but i couldnt be arsed so just sat on the rocks, they were very sharp and hurt your feet when you walked on them. After a while we headed back and saw the sign for the hi hostel, this was miles out of town so we were glad we didnt book into the hostel , imagine trying to find it at night in the middle of no where down rape alley!
