I have just finished my first week in Australia with Oz Intro and can honestly say it is one of the best things I have ever done!!
I arrived in Sydney on Sunday 4 January and was met by Rachel at Surfside Backpackers which is where the Oz Intro gang were staying. After having a quick look around we caught up with the other people on our group had a quick change and started to explore Coogee which is a lovely suburb with a gorgeous beach which we could see from our balcony! The next day was the start of the Oz Intro week and the first thing on the itinerary was jet boating around Sydney harbour.....absolutely brilliant so a must if you ever get the chance!! Tuesday started by sorting out all the essentials like bank accounts, medicare etc then we went off to Wildlife World where I saw my first Kangaroo and Koala! Wednesday was the learn to surf day!! We didnt get off to a good start as the instructors were driving around trying to find some waves as the sea was pretty calm that day. We finally found some at Boat Harbour and I was in the sea for what felt like hours trying to catch some waves!! It is so much harder than it looks and I only managed to stand up for about 2 seconds!! On Thursday I had my first trip to Bondi beach... the weather was pretty cold so we couldn't take full advantage of it! From Bondi beach we did the coastal walk to another beach where we had a BBQ and some of the guys played volleyball! That evening we had a presentation from Oz Intro giving us advice on where to travel in Australia which is when it really hit home that I was going to visit some of the most amazing places and couldnt wait to get started! Friday was an early start for the journey to the Blue Mountains.....it was a tiring day but well worth it for the amazing views. We had a free day on Saturday so we topped up our tans and prepared for the pub crawl that evening.......we were picked up by a party bus which was blaring out music and it took us to all the best bars in central Syndey! One of the funniest nights out i've ever had! Sunday was the final day of Oz Intro and we had a fairwell dinner in the revolving restaurant at the top of Sydney Tower.
Loved every minute of my first week in Australia and can't wait to plan the rest of my trip!
