Stayed 5 days in Cha Am. The hotel was only 50 metres from the beach and we stayed in a modern villa opposite a fabulous pool.
The night market was only 3 minutes away and well known for its seafood. The resort itself is almost 90%Thai and being Thai, they don't sunbathe. Consequently, the beach was wall to wall umbrellas. The jet skis and banana boats come way too close to the beach, which made swimming slightly hazardous.
All in all, not a place we will re visit but the relaxation was good.
We returned to Hua Hin and stayed in a much more typically Thai house hotel. The breakfasts were a work of art and the beaches superb. The monkeys come onto the beach in hordes and are so tame. They were fun to watch and interact with. In contrast to Cha Am, the beaches were deserted, clean and the sea was like taking a bath.
Next stop. Bangkok by train and our final leg in Thailand.
