Hi All
We did update our journal yesterday but the system crashed, therefore this will have to be cut short.
We are currently in Darlington Beach just North of Coffs Harbour. We are on course of our route to hit Cairns on the 16th MArch. We have already been on the road for 1 week now in our new home (Nobby Nomad the Camper Van).
In brief we initally started our journey in Melbourne and spent a day browsing around the main city centre compared to other destinations Australia is very expensive for us. Melbourne was a very cosmoplitan & clean city very sports orientated. Unfortunatley with the length of our journey we were unable to stay much longer. The following day we picked up Nobby and set off towards Cairns. We opted to take the Hume Highway which is more inland than the coastal route and stopped off at the following destinations;
Seymore...where a possum joined us for Spag Bol diner got some good pics that we will load up when we can
Holbrook - beautiful sleepy village (the submarine museam is housed here)
Moss Vale - Set in forrest surroundings in rainned and poured through our time here and hasn't stopped since!! Paul very concerned about losing his tan!! As if!
Sydney - After 4 hours ooking for acccomodation we had to check into a hotel for two nights. Did all the sights and more considering we were stying in the red light district again!! Kings Cross
Pacific Palms - Very quiet and peaceful off the beaten track resort. We had our own massive private beach that we discovered the next morning. Breath-taking views.
Port Macquarie - On arriving the heavenns were still open!!We have been warned that a cyclone (grade 3!!!!) should hit the North East Coast within the next 7 days!!! Not good as we are on our way into it!! We went to a local cinema last night which was a nice change. Although Al bricking it about the storm!!
We have just arrived at Darlington Beach - really nice resort with many activites may partake in a spot of golf tomorrow!! Weather permitting!! WE need SUN!
Really enjoying the camper van exp...both mucking in...allocating jobs to each other!! Good team effort ha!!
We have seen a lot of Oz but we believe the best is yet still to come. Weather could be better but were still being upbeat and have now got a cassette forthe car (can't get hold of them anywhere) yes its the ever popular ghost busters theme tune!!!!
We have visited one Repile Park I had to drag Paul away from looking at the crocs!! SOmetimes its hard to see things as we are in the van so much as we haave to cover alot of ground every day. Internet access is hard as we are in rural areas therefore we will not be able to update as often!!
Hope your all well....
Keep those messages going...
Love
Paul and Al xxx
