Wednesday 15th July
Yesterday 14th headed for Rocky Mountains in colorado. We went on a 10 hour tour with Colorado Sightseer. It was a beautiful day and we did not get the thunderstorms that we had been told would be. We headed up the mountains and stopped in a town called Aspes or something like that. It was a lovely town with lots to see and do. A lot of people go bikeriding up the mountains from this small town, but it just look exhausting. We went looking in all the little shops.... lots of souvenier shops. There is also a huge lake here where people go skiing and sailing. We then began to head into the national park to the Rocky Mountains. We stopped along the way looking at different views. It is a spectacular view. But one place we got out to see a waterfall but as you were walking up a small hill your breathing began to get affected because we were so high up.... At first you think you are unfit but then realise it is affecting everyone. Talitha did a bit of exploring here and walking over the rocks in the water when all of a sudden she slipped and got wet. Her new nikes got wet and her socks.... We saw little chipmunks which begged for food. They were so cute. We then headed to a picnic area along a river and had lunch. We then began to keep climbing until we reached the top and boy was it cold and windy. We started to walk a trail to see the best vantage point but it was so hard on your breathing. It was a great day and met some people on tour. But the one thing against the tour was the tour lady kept talking through the microphone all the time.... dont these tour operators know that on a 10 hour tour we do need some quiet time. Spending the day in the city of Denver today
