How's life?
I'm fine so far!
At the moment, I'm a week in China and I saw a lot of things so far like:
- Great Wall
- Forbidden City
- Summer Palace
- Shanghai
- World Expo
- Xian
- Terra-Cotta Army
My first impression so far in China is so different on many things like:
- Culture
- People
- Manners
- Food
But I must say: you have to face China by yourself and get an opinion about what you see. My culture shock was actually my second day in China, when I was facing Silk Street. People tried to scam me on things what I don't like. But of course I wasn't scamed, but the way how people get used to...I didn't like it.
The night train from Beijing to Shanghai was 14h. I didn't sleep well, cause the bed was so narrow. Further the lights went of around 10 pm and the first people woke up at 6 am. So you can imagine that ;)
Shanghai I really enjoyed for 3 days and I visit the city and World Expo. Also I met friends at the World Expo, so that was good :)
Further I went to the Dutch Expo too and it was truly amazing design and art. But it was very crowed and I couldn't see everything.
Japan and Republic of Korea have very interesting architecture, but the queue was so long. It was almost 3 hours waiting :(
From Shanghai to Xian was another 14h by night train. That was definitely one of the baddest hard sleepers I ever faced on. Very narrow and very bad sleeping. I can hardly move my legs and I was already happy that I arrived in Xian :)
In Xian itself it's a nice city and I didn't know there are a lot of Muslim population. Further I went cycling around the city wall of Xian. Definitely worth and you can see the history from North to East to South to West. It's a 8 mile ride, but when drove around the wall, it was very hot.
The next day I went to the Terra-Cotta Army. Very impressive and also I enjoyed that too. I was fully surprised that the project wasn't finished yet. But it's truly one of the 8 wonders in the world :)
The coming week I will go to the Three gorges and Hong Kong. Next Thursday is my next destination: Jakarta, Indonesia. Finally I can take a long rest, cause no more traveling for a couple of days :)
I'm a bit tired of traveling, cause I didn't sleep much the last couple of weeks. But we are almost there, so you can do it :)
Talk 2 u all later and cya next time!

Nina Hang in there! My last ever big train ride in China was from all the way down south back to Beijing : 72 hours. Was soooo fed up with all the disgusting bread and instant noodles, but we did see/do amazing things. It was worth it!! You'll thank god for Indonesian food though! Even white rice will never have tasted that good! LOL!
