August 6th started off with a great night sleep. We went to bed early and we got a sweet 8 hours of sleep. It was a good thing too because you know who was up at 615 in the morning. No matter, we were all ready to start the day!
Looking out of the kitchen window, a foggy mist filled the air. We had breakfast and hung out with Aunty Gail. Auntie Gail gave Aimee a memory stick with pictures of Nanny when she was younger. We also saw a picture of my father-in-law when he was a little boy. It made Aimee smile!
We took a scenic drive to Lynn Cayon's Bridge. The suspension bridge took us across a river. (Uncle Gary just told me that in his days as a officer, he would have to pull out dead bodies out of that river down below) I am always amazed with the stories and personal histories that people provide. Again, Aimee and I took videos and pictures. Walking across took me right into a scene of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Lucky for the visitors on the bridge, I didn't cut the bridge to get away from the bad guys.
We went back to Auntie Gail's house and we put Emma down for a nap and we got to see Uncle Gary, Megan and Marcus. Megan and Marcus had just arrived from their honeymoon in Vegas.
In the afternoon, we took a drive to Granville Island. There we met up Dara and her 2 kids and my cousin Cesar. Dara couldn't stay long but Cesar stayed with us to have lunch. Granville island is a nice place with markets galore!!!! Food, desserts, vegetables, drinks, love music, kids play area, sea gulls, boats, great view of North Vancouver are some of the things/activities that Granville Island offers to the locals and tourist alike.
We said our goodbyes to my primo as he had to go to a birthday party. We took a drive through a few different areas of Vancouver. First we took a drive through the neighborhood of Davies then it was off to see where the B.C. Lions play their football games and then there was a hop, skip, and jump up the road where we saw where the Canucks play and entertain NHL teams over the course of an NHL season.
We finally made it back to Aunty Gail's house, gave Emma a bath, caught up with Uncle Gary, and now I believe that Aimee and I are going to go for a short walk around the neighborhood. Forest begins about 2 block north from where we are staying so maybe we'll head there.
Look for pictures and videos later tonight.
Buenas noches todos.
