Hi folks,
Well after much anticipation we are on the road. After our farewells in Sydney we arose at 5am and set off for the airport with Will Bright in tow. The sudden realisation of what life with a backpack, a tent, and a hangover was going to be like hit us hard but we soon adjusted!
We flew to Melbourne for 5 days where we did a walking/free city tram tour of the city. The first day was one of minor upset as we arrived at the hostel which we were ooked into and after 15 minutes of insisting we were in the right hostle we found out we were indeed wrong. So we "speedily" hauled our bags back on our backs and began the journey to the right hostel. The highlight of the trip would have to be the AFL match Geelong vs. Hawthorn. We may not have understood the rules but our team hats, face paint and our very loud yelling seemed to make up for it! Either way our team took 1st place in a tense final quarter! Victory was ours.
After our fly in visit to Melbourne we hit the air and journeyed to Cairns. After a night at the Woolshed which consisted of a free meal and some Goldfish racing we arose to pick up our car for the next 4 weeks. The Vogmobile. We loaded our bags and headed up to Cape Tribulation. We arrived at the campsite full of anticipation and were not disappointed as we pitched our tent a mere 10metres from the beach. We put up the tent, more fondly known as Ferdie, and went for a walk on the beach with clear blue waters on our right and rainforest on our left.
I will take a brief advert break as i have run out of time, but rest assured i will add more tomorrow!!
