Today I arrived in Mostar after a 3 hour scenic bus trip from Sarajevo. It was another beautiful trip, weeving through small moutain villages and tunnels carved thoough the cliff face.
I arrived at Mostar 30 minutes earlier than expect and struggled to get my bearings, before the local hostels and hotels swarmed me with leaflets asking me to stay with them. For the first time on my trip the hostel owner actually picked me up from the Bus station. We jumped in her car and she gave me a brief tour of the city on the way to her hostel, which was located just outside the old city.
As soon as I walked in the door I knew I was going to enjoy staying here, it was homely and quiet. They sat me down, gave me coffee and explained a map of the city to me.. I was really suprised..
I settled my stuff and had a walk through the city via the old firing line between both armies there was a building which had thousands of bullett holes. The Stari Most (The Famous Bridge) which stands of a symbol of reunification after the war and also a famous 21 metre jumping spot. Was definitely a highlight and got some awesome photos. I also met the english couple who I caught the bus from Kotor to Sarejova with.
For dinner I smashed back a bag of vegetables, and a litre of orange juice.
Tomorrow I am heading off on an all day tour around Mostar and its sorrounding suburbs.
