rd - turned out to be a new kind of experience with Thailand. We checked out from Fulay Guesthouse and took a tjuk taxi to the train station. We had bought tickets a couple of days before. Departure was 12.06 destination Surat Thani and then bus to Don Sak where we had booked a night for then the following day to go to Ko Phangan. Back to the train station we were informed that it would be half an hour late, then three hours and finally it was cancelled. Sh.. We had already paid for the room in Don Sak and now we were unable to get there. We called Fulay and asked if we could store our stuff while se found out what to do. No problem then they had a chance to see the blond kids again. After a couple of hours we had another tour arranged so the day after we should go by bus and then high speed catamaran to get to Ko Phangan. We also got the payment for the room in Don Sak cancelled and got the same room at Fulay Guesthouse for the extra night. After this we went to the beach.
th - we try again - this time we had to get up early as the bus was leaving at 8.30 and we should be there at 8 o'clock. First 4 hours was bus tour and then another 2,5 hour high speed catamaran. It was (we think) an expensive tour but on the other hand everything also seemed to be more well organised. We arrived well at Ko Phangan found the taxi the resort promised they would arrange and arrived around 5pm at Pan Banburi Village. A very nice place.
th - Another Sunny day at the beach which is just 30 meters away from our Bungalow. Pernille and the kids went off to find a place where they could by a ball we could play with in the water and on the beach. They also found some plastic tools the kids could use on the beach. At last they bought a set for Oscar for snorkelling. But after just half an hour both Oscar and Marie enjoyed it so I went to by a set for Marie as well. Then after another half an hour Pernille and also enjoyed it and off again to buy two more sets. So at lunch when one of the employees at the resort asked if we would like to go on a tour the next day with four stops we said yes. The rest of the day we were more or less in the water all the time. I forgot to mention that because something broke on a mask when we bought the 3rd & 4th set we got a snorkelling "pipe" for free. This we could attach to Asta's swimm glasses so now we could all 5 do the snorkelling.
th - we were supposed to be picked up at 11 o'clock so as we were ready an hour before Oscar had a hard time waiting as he was very exited. 11 am and no more waiting off we went in a long tail boat. As soon as we got out of the bay the waves was sometimes more than 1-1,5 m high but the kids enjoyed it me too, I am not sure about Pernille. The first place was at the southern part of Koh Phangan and it was perfect. The water was very clear a lot of different types of fish and there were corals as well. This was a very nice experience for all of us. We went to a few other spots and they were all nice places for snorkelling. However the first place was the most impressive one.
th - today a relaxing day at the beach have not been doing much. We booked the next two places where we want to go and also trying to find a place on Phi Phi island where we could be together with some of Pernilles family when they get to Thailand beginning of February. Marie most of all looked forward to 6 pm because then we had arranged for her to Skype with her class back home where they are 6 hours behind us. She enjoyed it a lot and Oscar was very thrilled when we told him we had arranged likewise next week with his class.
th - last day at Pan Banburi resort. We were picked up at 11am where a taxi took us to a national park where there was a waterfall, viewpoint and elephant trekking. Well the waterfall would have looked good if there had been 90 percent more water. The viewpoint however was very nice. It was 200-300m higher up than the waterfall via a nature trail. It was tough getting up there and for me it was even more tough going down again as I had my little pricess on my shoulders. Back down again we paid to do the elephant trekking. Afterwards we went to a Chineese temple but having seen a lot of temples in Chiang Mai this was not impressing. Last stop was in the town pier Thong Sala where we had lunch and looked at a few shops. Back at the resort we went in the water again.
