We arrived in Surfers Paradise on Sunday 20th May at about 12pm. We finally travelled outside of New South Wales and are now in Queensland!
We only scheduled in 2 days here but we intended to fill our days doing all sorts of activities. On Sunday it was pretty sunny but a little windy so we went for a long stroll along the beach. The Gold Coast is gorgeous and walking along the beach was quite an impressive sight. The sands stretch for miles and there are so many skyscarpers all around and in the distance. We then went on a hostel night out to a local bar for pizaa and drinks. We goy chatting to loads of people and played a few games of pool. It was quite a chilled night but still very good.
On day two (today) we thought we may go whale watching or go to a water park. After having a late breakfast the heavens decided to open and it poured down just for a short while. The rest of the day remained cloudy and dull and the whole place was mysteriously quiet. Anyway, we couldn't do very much due to the weather so we went on the Aquaduck along the water (think of the Liverpool Duck back home). This was quite a disappointing trip which made it quite funny. There are no majot sights for the guides to point out except for a few multi-million dollar houses that some CEOs of companies I've never heard of live in!!! We then had a game of ten-pin bowling and went to an interbet cafe. All these activities only took us to 5pm!
Surfers Paradise in itself is beautifiul and if the weather was great, this tiny littl;e area would be far more applealing. As it happened it poured down and people hid in the houses and hostels! I thought this was pretty funny.
We're off to Brisbane tomorrow for three days and the only activity we have planned there so far is to get up at 4.30am on Thursday and watch Liverpool vs Milan in the Champions League. What fun!!! I'm looking forward to it really!!
