Wanted to visit the KL Bird Park today. Thought we'd leave early and try and beat the heat a bit. Taxi dropped us there but it was already pretty hot. The park was lovely with huge towers supporting the bird netting. This was above the trees and the birds were fairly free to fly. Lots of waterbirds such as Flamingos. There was also a bird show which I didn't think much of as it was mostly birds (Macaw) doing party tricks like counting or working out which cup the token was under. After the show we returned to the hotel and had a swim. Then we went out to Chinatown and wandered around the seemingly endless stalls selling handbags, watches and mobile phone covers.
A nice taxi driver recommended we go to Jalan Alor for dinner and he took us there. This street was full of chinese food vendors selling everything from shark fin soup to frog porridge! We settled for more standard fare such as Chili Prawn and Sweet and Sour Pork! We had booked the hotel free shuttle bus back at 9.30 so thought we'd go to Traders Hotel Sky Bar and Pool on the 33rd floor for a drink. It is directly opposite the Petronas Towers which looked lovely all lit up. Then we walked back to KLCC watching the fountain which operates to music on the way back. The traffic was horrendous but we eventually made it back.
