Well this weekend really has been all about the transportation! Since arriving in Thailand almost 2weeks ago now I have been on 8 different methods of transport! Bet you cant name them all?!!
Started with a looooong drive up north to the border with Laos and Burma to Nan. The drive may not have been as long if Thai's did not insist on stopping for food and juice constantly!! Was a winding road up the mountains but the scenery was breathtaking although by the time we actually reached Nan it was dark and stormy although still warm!
After checking into a cozy little guesthouse we then headed to meet a group of South African teachers that were working in Nan. Was I glad to see them to actually have a proper conversation turns out their huge ruby fans so have visited scotland quite a few times and they then talke dus in to going clubbing......Well it certianly wasnt like fatties, the union or level2 haha. The "club" consisted of a heacy metal band accompanied by rather strange back dancers and a "very attractive looking man" i.e. ladyboy as the south african pointed out with a "Welcome to Thailand" haha so interesting is best way to describe that experience!
Next morning was another early start to head to an english camp in a local school which was great fun even got to help out doing the Hokey Cokey and ChaCha Slide haha was about 280 children there and only 7 volunteers so was a lot of work but they all seemed to enjoy it and were very friendly! After the camp finsihed around lunch time we then went to a small artisits studio for lunch before I ventured on to a MOPPED!Por was driving thank god and it was good fun if a little scary to start with haha. So on that we took in all the sites of Nan before heading back for some jucie and then heading to a celebration for the local monastry which was very colourful and great to watch although was baking hot standing in street!
By this point it was almost 5pm so we headed down to Lampang where we were spending Saturday night. Here we stayed in aother guesthouse like something right out of The Beach (I.e Leo dicaprio film) well minus the reisdent psycho haha. Was very laid back and right on the riverbank so was nice to sit last ight and wathc the rain fall as we played cards.
Sunday morning I was up at 7am and on a BIKE!! Was very boho-esqu haha doing the whole eco-friendly thing haha was out on that for about an hour going around Lampang am sure I'lll be sore tomorrow haha. Then we headed out of Lampang to an Elephant Sanctuary it is the only place in the world that trains elephants liek the Mahouts (a village tribe in Thailand) it was A-MAZ-ING!
Got to ride an ELEPHANT!! As well as fed one and pet a baby elephant too!! The pictures kinda speak for themself was such an amazing experience! Although the elephants skin is horrible! haha and there kinda rude one even soaked me when in the water haha but loved it!!
Sadly we left the elehant vilage and took the 5 hour drive back to Lopburi again after god knows how many stops although one was not really as food orientated and got to see the city of Tak which was lovely along the waterfront again and leads down from one of the main reservoirs in Thailand!

p.s in case you are stil trying to work out the transport modes they are: plane, bus, car (boring haha), tuktuk, boat, moped, bike and ELEPHANT!
