DAY 2
Tuesday August 12, 2008
I woke at 6:15, too late to workout - All the best intentions at times fall short. The day started with overcast skies, however blossed into a beauitful sunny sky. Landon who is usually NOT AT ALL an early riser, had no problem getting ready for his Media Class. His father and I are really impressed with his enthusium and tenancity to suceed in the class. Landon is in his zone, and this class has given him the confidence to know he can suceed and hang with the best of the best.
After breakfast (courtesy of the Marriott Residence Inn), were off on the 30 min trip to Stanford. As a parent, its a drive of pride. The house in which his class is held is in the midst of gorgeous lush landscaping and big beautiful mansions. It reminds me of my childhood days at Dartmouth. Very elegant and east coast in the way it feels, but with Palm Trees.
Landon arrives at school which starts 9:00am ready for the day. He has alredy created 4 games! Again, mom and dad are very proud. We head back to the hotel. After making class back to LV and web browsing, Nijah and I venture out for a bit- back to the mall from yesterday. Still can't believe were in Silicon Valley! Passing by the Yahoo building everyday is really cool.
So Nijah head over to Starbucks for coffee and a little r & r under the sunshine. We then stop at N and Out (my personal worst burger place on the planet) to get A something to eat. Head back to the hotel until we drive to pick up Landon by 5:00pm
Nijah and Landon seem to have created their own routine after class. Grab something to eat (again courtesty of the Marriott Residence Inn) then head over to the pool. I'm on this kick to commit to a daily workout of at least 30 minutes per day. So far so good.
All of us watched Michael Phelps win more gold medals. He is simply a superb athlete! The womens gymnastics team on the other hand . . . Except for _______gymnastics lacks the explosive performaces we used to see in past years. Nadia Mary Lou - I miss you! The sport of gymnastics is NOT the same!
