So I went out with Jill and Jeanette the other day to do a tour since it was raining we did the Connemara/ Kylemore Abby tour. It was amazing in spite of the rain. We got to learn some interesting history of the country and see some amazing sights. I also saw two black sheep, but I didn't take pictures.. which I should of. First stop was the Ross Errilly Friary, then off to other sights. We stopped in the town where they filmed the movie "The Quiet Man" then off to Kylemore Abby. It originally started as a private residence, built for a woman by her husband. It is amazing. It is now a convent/ private school. You get to go through some rooms, like the sitting room, dinning room, and rooms with all sorts of interesting artifacts. When the original owners son got sick the only place that they could go that would cure him was Egypt, and unfortunately while there his wife got sick and died. He couldn't bare to bury her there so he brought her back and built her a mausoleum which still stands there today. There is also a Neo-Gothic church, and gardens. We didn't get to see the garden because of the rain, but I can imagine that it is just as amazing as the rest. We actually got a special treat because of the rain, I guess in the mountains there are pools of water, and when it rains the pools overflow and run down creating waterfalls, which are so cool. They also create flash floods, not nearly as cool if you have to drive through them, which we did, but we were lucky because we were on a bus. I have high hopes for the next month when Lisa comes to visit me. No clue what we are doing, but more touring I think. But I will for sure keep this updated. I am also heading back to Dublin on Wednesday to hang out there until Lisa shows up. Hope you all enjoy the pictures, I have more and more of actual things rather than just me drinking... But I'm starting to understand why so many Irish people drink... there really isn't anything else to do. Anyways.. that's all for now. I will talk to you all soon.
