Hi all! Welcome to the middle of nowhere where the bears roam free, and accomodation remains sparse.
We arrived after a 5-hour journey from San Francisco in our hire car (V6 Rav4, only the best) on the 25th. As we were heading through red neck country the heat was pretty exhausting. Arriving in Yosemite, we searched for accomodation, but only found a refugee camp willing to take on 3 pals. We were told to leave ourt belongings in an anti-bear locker on the grounds that it would be ripped apart by bears!
We headed up to Glacier Points, one of the highest points in the park, to check out the stunning views and take some photos. On the way back down we had a little paddle in the river and discussed dilemma #2: Do we stay in the refugee camp or shelter in the V6.
The dilemma was resolved when we found a lobster living in one of the beds. We ran for the car!
We bear watched all night and made it out in one piece the next morning with haste. However, we took some time to stop off and watch a family of wild deers and get breakfast at an all American truck stop. Yee Hah. Next stop Viva Las Vegas, baby yeah!
