Finally in Luang NamTha.
After all the flying and waiting time I arrived quite tired and sleepy. The airport was small and it didn't take long before I got my bag.
A tuk-tuk driver found me immediately when I stepped outside and offered a lift to town. Shared with other 5 locals it cost me £1.6 for 5-6 km drive. I saw the others paying the same amount. Which means it was a fair price.
I chose a Dakchampak hotel as saw it online and it looked good. I try to spend the first night in a nice place with all amenities. The VIP room cost me £11 for a night. I was quite disappointed to find out that there's no hot water as they use solar panels and there wasn't any sun that day. I thought it would be more obvious have I not been so tired;-)
I will move into another place tomorrow.
Anyway, one cold shower later I ventured into town. Or just one street to be exact.
I started with a Thai massage. It cost £4 and felt nice but wasn't too strong. I knew it would be like this after I saw the petite woman that massaged me. At least she didn't make me cry as a guy did in Kuala Lumpur a few years back.
Dinner time came and I went into Mychank place. Some fried chicken and Lao salad plus 2 big Lao beers cost £5.5. Not too bad but tomorrow I'm going to the night market try something more local.
Back to the hotel for a well deserved sleep! I will look for some trekking options tomorrow.
