As mentioned in the first post we had some visa trouble at the start of our trip. We resolved this by spending the last week in Thailand, rather than cancelling the trip.
We got some reasonably cheap tickets from Bangkok to Krabi, with a few hours of layover. Cecilie was looking forward to using this time to getting some shopping done and was not pleased when we got side tracked from the bigger international Taxfree to the more modest domestic one. The lone child still living in Cecilie was not pleased..
Asian countries each have their own set of favourite cars, seemingly not allowing any others. In Krabi the cars you see is some sort of Toyota Space Wagon, the local open back buses or the classic Tuk-Tuks. We hitched a ride on one of the Space Wagons (all hooked up to Karaoke if we wanted to have a go) and soon found ourselves at our quirky and charming hotel. The place is called Ban Habeebee and is run by a muslim family that are all about warm smiles and friendly greetings. The outdoor area is cluttered with small sheep-, pig- and deer-statues, flowers, archways, trees and much much more. It looks like it has been decorated by an old woman with a pathologic fear of leaving a single space free of content.
We both wanted to go diving and found a respectable looking place to make our reservations. There had been a while since any of us have done any diving, so the night before we spent an hour in the pool going over maneuvers and hand signals. We was joined in our trip by another diver, Leif, and our instructor, Magnus. Both were swedish and in a good mood. The dive was nice, with OK visibility and plenty of fish. During the second dive we swam around statues that was dropped in the ocean sometime during the 90s, now all covered in coral and teeming with life.
Our nearest beach is Ao Nang and we have now been spending the better part of a week in the area. The tempo of our days is slow and we are genuinely enjoying the last week of vacation before real life in Bergen sets in. That being said we still fill our days with some activities. We have been to the local gym, attended a Muy Thai lesson with a world-champion and travelled with the locals to brave the nearest shopping mall. My birthday was spent rock climbing on a secluded beach, while in the evening we ate and made use of the wine buffét.
Tomorrow we are heading home, and hopefully we will se you all soon.
Love Cili & old man Gard.
