Ozygurus: Family of Four
Went to 4th largest Roman city in Britain, roman legionnaires fortress roxeter at virconium
Camped at campsite in Bath on canal path with a bike path into Bath city. Locked up the bikes, Played tourists, very hot day, Roman Bathhouse, Baths bath, included commentary by Bill Bryson, cycled up to Royal Circus and along Royal Crescent back to towpath. Dinner at a pub on the canal. Great playground with a dog run area next to it.
Stonehenge, visiting again after 15 years and this time the ropes allowed closer viewing and the audio handsets meant a lot less noise from tourguides etc. Then off to Monkey World in Dorset, fabulous campsite right next door with an honesty shop, a farm including ponies horses alpaca sheep and a great river walk spooting deer (successful) – Longthorn Farm- and distant teepees. Roaring engines gave away the local tank driver training range. 50 ton tanks rumbled past all night. Monkey World was inspiring and environmental especially after watching the series on Animal Planet. Went to Tank World as it was so close.
Drove to Kimmerage Bay for the snorkling tour however the wind picked up and made the vis poor. Camilla found a great produce store here with elderflower and lemon liquors and champainge. Stayed behind Snedford house. Road up the range was difficult and steep and a descending motorhome had lost brakes and come to its demise. Sometimes my driving is overly cautious as it was on the descent yesterday, making me feel very pleased with myself.
