Bequia 16 February 2008 We sailed to Bequia from St. Lucia and anchored in Admirals bay. Alex went scuba diving. William and I took a taxi to Lower bay and to Freedom bay. We all went snorkelling off the beach in Admirals bay and it was very good, with lots of species of reef fish plus lobsters, eels and scorpion fish. Bequia is very pretty and the bay was full of yachts.
There are plenty of dingy docks so getting ashore should be easy. I say should be because we had rather a lot of fun with the dingy. There was quite a big swell and I was the first victim. I hesitated while stepping across from the dingy to the back of the boat and fell through the gap into the sea. At least it was warm. Paul was next coming back from a local bar in the evening, he fell victim to the swell while getting into the dingy from the dock and went for an unscheduled swim. He surfaced OK but without his glasses which spent the night at the bottom of the sea. Fortunately Alex was able snorkel down and rescue them next day. Who will be next? Watch this space.
