Our Global Gallivants
We were a little smarter today and had a lunch made for us before we left for the day. Our first stop on the itinerary was the Lower Basin to see the Fountain Artist Pots. Very unique! A strange mixture of whitish grey and peachy coloured clay/mud bubbling on the ground. A nice walk around there and then we headed to the Middle Basin. I have been looking forward to this stop even more than Old Faithful. This is where the Crystal Prism is located and it definitely lived up to its name! Stunningly beautiful! One of my favourites here. I also enjoyed seeing these long dead trees, fallen over on their sides, all facing the same direction. They have nothing left of them but the trunk and the root and they are bleached white from all the minerals here. Sometimes it's so barren looking. Next stop: Biscuit Trail we did the boardwalk here and then the Mystic Falls hike from the west end of the boardwalk. It was easier to see why it's called biscuit Trail once you're on the hike because the rocks do look like biscuits. We sat on a rock in front of the falls and ate our lunch and then carried on up to the lookout. Next stop: Black Sand. This was another boardwalk with very little black sand. It looked like what there was of it was brought in to make a short path. We decided to head back to the hotel and go for a swim and then loosen up in the hot tub. Once we were warmed up, we did some stretching. We had dinner at a barbecue place and decided to scratch that off our list in the future. We did some walking around town afterward Steps on the fitness tracker:15,300
