Not as nice a day as yesterday, really thankful we did the outdoors stuff I wanted to do when the sky was blue and the sun shining, the Eiffel Tower just doesn't have the same sparkle on a grey day. Today we headed to the musee d'orsay for Trent to see his favourite artists' works, however upon arrival we found it was closed on Mondays :( well that threw a complete spanner in our works as I had planned on the day being spent there. Whilst wondering around trying to figure what was next I had a gypsy girl approach with the ring scam everyone had warned us about, luckily they had and I was able to tell her to go away. We made a decision to go and check out Napolean's tomb but when we found out we had to pay 9€ each to see the museum which we had no interest in seeing we decided to give it a miss. So from there we traveled to Mont Marte to see the basilisk, a beautiful little town but full of Nigerians trying to scam you left, right and centre. I thought Trent was going to punch one in the face if he didn't let go of his arm in a seconds more time. It was a stunning view from the top of the hill where the basilisk stood. After having a little look around Mont Marte we caught a train to Notre Dame cathedral where we stopped for some lunch (crepe's with ham, cheese, tomato and mushroom and a plate of chips) we went for a look through Notre Dame and it was a truly beautiful cathedral but nothing has come quite close to the brilliance of St. Paul's yet. On the way back to the hotel we took a leisurely stroll towards the metro station and stumbled across some beautiful buildings and cute little alley ways, that's the way I prefer to see places, just strolling around coming across little gems you wouldn't normally see. Well it's off to the louvre bright and early tomorrow.
