Alright well im back!!! Today we took a bus to Oxford, which was like 2 and a half hours away from campus. We got picked up on campus by a coach bus at 10!!! For some reason we left at the wrong time and there were all kinds of traffic issues. Instead of taking 2 and a half hours it took 3 and half hours, it was a long bus ride there. We got there around 130 and the bus driver dropped us off on Eye Street, where all the historical buildings were. We first walked down a side street to St Marys Cathedral and went in it. Right outside the cathedral was Racliffes Camera, which is a huge dome, seen from all over the city!! Something i learned today was that Oxford University is made up of like 30 colleges all over the city. Each college had amazing buildings.
Right when we got out of St Marys we were starving so we started walking to find some lunch. We found a huge covered market. There were a ton of sandwich places, desert shops, and butchers that had fresh meat. We found a sandwich shop and got some lunch. I had a tuna bagette, a coke, and chips. It was pretty good. After lunch we started walking again. We walked to some fancy buildings, the historical museum and the Sigh Bridge. The main reason that we came to Oxford was because Sara wanted to see Christ Church (where harry potter was made). haha
Well it was already around 330 so we started walking to Christ Church. We found a huge street that had shops and restaurants down it, and there were a ton of people walking down it. It looked like New York City. We stopped at starbucks because the girls wanted coffee, it was freezing outside!!! Wherever we went, people knew we were americans, because we would take pictures everywhere and joke around!!! We finally made it to Christ Church and it was absolutly amazing. It was a huge castle. We had to pay like 4 pounds to get in but it was worth it. Another cool fact, Christ Church was where Alice and Wonderland was created. We walked through the cathedral and right when we walked in, my camera went dead, so i didnt get many photos of the cathedral. Luckily it started working again and i could take some more photos. We walked out of Christ Church and just started walking. We found a courtyard in front of one of the colleges and took funny pictures. I only have one on my camera though. We than started venturing back to the bus and caught our 630 bus back home. It was a good day!!!
