Up early and onto a 5 hour bus journey to Punta Del Diablo.
Reet agrees to live on the fly for once and just turn up at Punta without booking anywhere to stay.
So we get there only to find everywhere is booked due to Carnival. After much traipsing around the town we managed to find our own private shed (luckily there were no dead cats around in need of a swing) - it came at an inflated snipe of a price USD$60 night.
Note to self Reet is always right. Regardless of our new accommodation this place was pretty cool. A small fishing village on the far East coast of Uruguay known for it's surf.
We were also going to be here for Carnival. Although not on the grandiose scale of Rio it was still well worth a look - also no-one trying to rob all your belongings. See photos of the Carnaval.....
Spent 4 days relaxing, 1 day on the beach having a little swim and building Uruguays biggest sand castle, much to the bemusement of the locals.
The other 3 days were raining so we just relaxed in some of the local bars with either a coffee, a wine or a beer in our hands.
