Caught my first bus in South America from Buenos Aires to Puerto Iguaçu and it took 18hrs. I traveled Cama and it was pritty descent. Large reclining chairs with 2 meals not too shabby. in the Puerto Iguacu i stayed in the outskirts of town at the HI hostel in and I really wish i had stayed in the centre of town although i did meet a really nice American lass from Santa Monica who has kindly invited me to visit. the hostel was a bit of a let down, it had a very nice interior however the staff could have been better (they all smiled but could have been nicer and more helpful, not nearly as good as the staff at the HI hostel in BA and the commission they charged for everything was a bit of a rip-off, buy bus tickets yourself at the bus station and save loads)
Anyway whilst here i took in both sides of the Cataratas de Iguacu which i would advise anyone to do however if your pushed for time and can only make one make it the Argentinean side, much more to see and do and a heck of a lot cheaper. Also get there as early as poss. and run up to the Garganta del diablo as it gets far too busy later on. This experience was awesome, was like something out of King Kong and is the only place you don't have to chase a rainbow, if you do the boat trip under the falls you go through them awesome - well worth a visit
