It's our last day in Singapore and we've just checked out of our hotel. We are actually really sad. We knew it was only a stop over but have really enjoyed Singapore despite our initial fear on the first day. We went across to Sentosa yesterday, an Island just off the coast. We went across in a cable car 60 metres high, Paul (being scared of heights) was a very brave little soldier and actually loved it. The views were absoloutely amazing. Sentosa was so so beautifull we both fell in love, although very commercialised we looked beyond that and the actual island was amazing and like a tropical jungle with beautifull beaches (we never thought to take swimming stuff so were gutted), Paul likened it to driving around Jurassic Park(Sad geek!). We went to the underwater world, there were loads of big sharks (Bradz you would have loved it), then we went up the Carlsberg Sky Tower (131metres) and had a 360 degree view from the top, the tower rotated and the views were incredible (and once again at that height Paul showed no fear!!!). We took a lovely walk along Siloso beach and Zoe found the place she wants to live, there is a long deck out to a small C shaped island it was paradise, we saw a Monitor Lizard on the island too who Zoe wanted to bring home, she actually would have tried to cuddle it!!
When we finally had to leave and arrived back at the hotel, we were brave and ate here at the restaurant on site. Watching Paul use chopsticks has to be the funniest thing i have ever seen. He resorted to using the massive deep soup spoon to eat his tea, so embarrassing!! The food was Okay, the beer much much better. We got a taste for it (Tiger beer) so went out on the town to sample several more jugs fulls. We had so much fun in the karoake bars, these were all the pubs we could find. They all sang English cheesey love songs and loved it!! The staff were very very friendly and came over and chatted and tried to convince us to sing, we didn't embarrass ourselves. They even come round and top up your glasses when you get low! We staggered back to the hotel and in true english style stopped for a big mac on the way home (proper food!)
Were now heading out for some lunch and a final explore before heading off to the airport for our flight out to NZ. Very very excited can't wait to see Mark, Heidi and Neve and Simon and Joanne and NZ of course.
Love and miss you all so much, hope you are all OK
