When I pulled up at the services at junction 14, I was looking forward to heading over to Limerick to tip my trailer and get home. But work had some thing else planned, heading over to Galway. The first time over that way in Ireland.
I had no idea where I was going. Tiny little streets with narrow bridges and lunatic drivers trying to squeeze past me.
The place I was going I would never have found without spotting another driver indicating down a small path.
Eventually after tipping here and going to Shannon, I was able to head home. The trailer floor was fecked and I was tired. Loads of traffic in ballysimon and an impossible turn right up the R662 to Balinalard in Tipperary.
When I got there, Steph was there waiting for me. As I dropped the trailer and threw all my crap into the car, we headed off.
It should have been pay day but Steph said I hadn't been paid just yet. We checked again when we got in. The look on her face said it all, totally sickened. 'well something has gone in' she said! 'how much?'. I should have said how little! €169 for 4 days away from home. Devastated! Away from my family and little boy as well as my wife to be for that!!!!!!!! Call it a day!
