After an 8 1/2 hour bus drive we finally arrived at Knysna to meet my grandparents. We stayed at some of their friends house and had a mini braai, which is Afrikaans for a bbq. We went out for a few drinks at a bar called Cornuti's, which was a really nice place right on the water between the Knysna heads. The sun started to set as we were there and it looked so pretty!
On Sunday James and I went for a ride on the John Benn which is a boat that takes you around Knysna. We sat outside for a while but the wind was really strong so we went inside and had a few drinks.
On Monday we traveled a few hours to a place called Oudtshoorn for the day. We visited the 'Cango Caves' where the took the adventure tour, this involved climbing, sliding and pulling yourself along caves that were absolutely tiny - I’m surprised we made it through a few of them!! It was also boiling down there, with a 93% humidity it was definitely a good workout! It was really interesting to see the caves and unbelievable how some of the rocks formed underground. We then went to the Cango Crocodile Farm, we saw loads of animals, it was more like a really good zoo that purely a crocodile farm. We paid R150 to go into an enclosure and pet some baby cheetah, they were less than a year old, born in Nov. I managed to convince James to do it as well and I think he is glad I did, it was amazing, definitely my fave thing we have done so far. Their fur was really soft and they purred so loudly when we stroked them, they were so cute!
We went back to Knysna and stayed one more night there leaving for Port Elizabeth the next morning.
