Went out on a boat fishing with friends from the bowling club. Ron had done deal and got 6 hours for 35 euros each. The weather was superb and the fishing even better. We all caught (some more than others) and Ron caught a conger eel (another got away) and an octopus (which he later found he could have sold it for 40 euros). My claim was a decent Red Snapper. It was a great day and we have decided to do it once a month. I found another place to fish at the end of Mia Praia beach. It is a very beautiful spot but a bit of a walk as I refuse to drive my car over the "dodgy" breakwater. Val likes it as she can go for a run down Mia Praia (6kms long).
Bowled in Albufera. The bowling green is right on the edge of the cliff overlooking the sea and beaches, a great spot to play bowls. The surface is the same carpet we have at our club but a lot faster.
Went back to UK for Val to get a refresher with friends and family and found out our budgie (Sedric) is still alive and pecking.
Visited Loule as we heard it has a very good carnival in March, followed with another trip up the west coast to Carapatera wave watching (Val took some awesome pictures).
Alan & Rose came out and were staying in Albufera. Took them to a couple of our favorite watering holes and they came by train to see Val on the Saurday and had a day in Lagos (I had flown back to UK as Sam had got me and Roulston, 2 VIP tickets to the Leicseter v Wasps match. Great game, Leicester won though but we were treated like royalty it was great. I flew back on the same flight with John & Lyn (Roulston) and we picked Val up and drove off to Sevlle for a couple of days (not too far from Lagos, only a 4 hour drive). We had a good tour of Seville, some on a horse drawn carriage, some on foot and the hotel was superb, the only downside was that driving in Seville is terrible. Lots of roadworks and no left turns when the sat nav tells you to go left ! After a very stressful and traumatic 50 mins we eventually managed to say goodbye to Seville and get on the motorway back to Lagos. We did a couple of sight seeing tours for the Roulstons before they departed for cooler climes.
We won the Wednesday league at bowling (my first Portugeuse victory), but came 5th in the Saturday league (about midway).
