Hello Friends!!
The action continues! After Bangkok, we took a 12hr bus ride up to Chiang Mai. While there, we spent most of our time exploring the town, its markets and getting some essentials, like sleep sheets, for our trip.
We went to a Maui Thai fight night at the local stadium. WOW!!! It was a pretty cool experience! There were kids aged from what looked like about 12yrs old up to about 19. The fights didn't take very long but were pretty aggressive. No massive injuries apart from 2 knockouts....
From Chiang Mai, we went trekking in the Pai area (about 2.5hrs away) for 2 days. We stayed with a Hill Tribe in their village (no electricity/phone, but pigs and hens) which was great. Got to meet a few locals, as you will see from the photos. We hijked through amazing jungle scenery over 2 days and also caught a lift with an elephant!!!!! Had a quick shower in a waterfall and also went bamboo rafting in terential rain too. All made for a fantastic experience!!
After peeling our muddy clothes off, we jumped on a bus up to Pai Village, which is like the Byron Bay of Thailand. It is really chilled here. Good music, good food, and they tell us they like to party.
Staying here for a couple days before heading to Laos and slow boating it down the Meking to Lao Prabang.
We will probably not be anywhere near an Internet Cafe for the next week, but will be in touch soon.
Keep it Real. Peace out homies
