Have just spent the last week in Sydney where my tour ended. It is a fantastic city with so much to do. The first day we took a tour of the Opera house which is stunning inside, both in the opera theatre and the concert hall, unfortnately all operas were sold out for the days we were there but we did manage to get tickets to see a short play in the play house which was a really cool experience though the play was a little odd!! One day we had a trip to Manly which is a really nice beach town across the Harbour from Sydney and so you also get to go on a boat ride to to get to it. Of course we also did Bondi beach which was pretty cool, was a little surprised when we got there as it's not the best beach we have seen around the town, but it has a cool surfer kind of atmosphere. The oldest settlement area is also in Sydney, the Rocks, which has been left with its old style buildings and shops, on the weekend there is a big market there as well with jazz bands around and street entertainers so that was really good fun. On my last night I did the climb up the Sydney Harbour Bridge and it was just amazing. I did an evening climb, as you start the sun is setting but there is enough light to see the whole city but by the time you get to the top it is dark and all the city lights are on which was just fantastic, especially seeing the Opera house at night. Our group also fell lucky as when we were right at the top a boat anchored just to the side of the bridge and decided to have a firework display which we got to stay and watch, it was a great way to end my oz trip. All my tour friends were around in Sydney too but unfortunately I have now had to bid them farewell as I head to Auckland for my next tour around New Zealand!
